zd documentation
zd is an intentionally minimal, local Markdown and agent workbench. Read and edit rendered
Markdown, leave precise feedback, paste screenshots, and keep the related project, terminal thread,
files, and Git state in one place. Start with the task you want to finish.
Tutorial
- Start your first workbench to complete the project, thread, file, and Changes loop once.
- Read and review Markdown to give a document the full window, use Focus Mode, navigate its blocks, edit in place, and leave a precise comment.
How-to guides
- Install on macOS to verify, install, update, or remove a release build.
- Install on Windows to verify and run the x64 release installer.
- Manage projects and threads to organize terminal sessions across project roots and Git worktrees.
- Review Markdown with comments to turn selected text into
an inline note and a
zd-feedback.txthandoff. - Paste a screenshot into a document to save a clipboard image and insert its relative Markdown link.
- Inspect Git changes to review working-tree changes, history, comparisons, and read-only diffs.
- Customize themes to choose a workbench theme, override individual surfaces, or install and update a local theme.
- Develop zd to run the browser surface or native shell and choose a useful verification command.
